CONSTRUCTION UPGRADES AT SMGH

Strathroy-Caradoc residents will notice some changes to the face of the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital over the next few months. SMGH is undergoing the first face life since the original brick walls were created in 1962. Chief Financial Officer at SMGH, Paul Long says there are several steps in place to prevent damage to the existing brick. This includes adding a permeable air barrier, cladding materials on a grid, an aluminum wall panel, and finally porcelain and clay ceramic panels and tiles. Long says the entire project will cost $2.4 Million.

Long adds the renovations are expected to be complete in the Fall but until then SMGH is asking residents for their understanding since there will be some noise, man lifts and construction materials on site. He says to protect patients and their confidentiality window blinds will be drawn during the renovations.
